Dear Parents/Guardians of Class 5-505,
My name is Mrs. Giaimo and I am one of your child’s 5th grade teachers in Class 505. This will be my 6th year as a Special Education Teacher and my 3rd year here at PS 376. In the 2017-2018 school year, I taught 5th grade in an ICT class along with Ms. Bressler. Last year, I taught grades 3-5 in a Self-Contained class. I am thrilled to be back in 5th grade and I am excited about the journey we are about to embark on as a class!
As a Special Education Teacher, I am always individualizing and differentiating instruction in order to meet all my students’ goals. I am going to ensure that each student in our class has all the resources that they need to reach their maximum potential. In order to have a successful and prosperous year, Teacher and family communication is key!
If you have any questions or concerns at any point throughout the year, please email me! Atark1989@gmail.com. I am looking forward to a fantastic school year with our 5th graders!
Hello! I'm Ms. Bressler and I am will be teaching Class 5-505 this year along with my colleague, Mrs. Giaimo. I am excited to get to know the students, their families, and to work together to make it another excellent year at P.S. 376!
This school year will begin my 8th year as a teacher. The first 3 years, I enjoyed the many challenges of living and teaching ESL in Thailand. Upon returning to the U.S., I joined the NYC Teaching Fellows Program. I spent 2 years working as an ESL teacher at a public Elementary/Middle School in Midwood, Brooklyn. The past two years, I have been teaching 5th grade in the ICT setting at P.S. 376.
I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from Pennsylvania State University and just love bringing my knowledge of writing, multimedia arts, design and story telling into the classroom through a variety of projects and lessons. More recently, I received my Masters of Science in Education from the City College of New York, specializing in TESOL (Teaching English as a Second Language), which has prepared me to address the diverse challenges that face the English Language Learners of New York City.
I am delighted to return to the P.S. 376 community and I am committed to supporting your students as we navigate the 5th grade together. There is so much to look forward to this year!
Please, don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. Thanks in advance!
